Registration doesn't work

When a new user submits the registration form to create an account, an application error is generated.

- State changed from new to open
There was a duplicate key problem and a mailserver authentication bug. Those are fixed; I'm working with another deployment issue right now.

All fixed as of beta 2.8 (commit 173934152970b263dce1df5922472a783ea0b6d6).
